About us

The mimir collective (pronounced “mee-meer”) is founded on the belief that wisdom is drawn from reflection, and that the most meaningful insights emerge when we take time to understand people, places, and purpose.

Inspired by mimir, the wise counsellor of norse mythology who guarded the well of knowledge, the mimir collective is an evaluation and learning consultancy that helps organisations explore what truly works, why it works, and how it can be sustained.

Through research, evaluation, and co-production, the collective supports projects that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and social value. We turn lived experience into evidence and evidence into practical action, helping partners design, measure, and improve the difference they make.

With roots in psychology, heritage, and community practice, the mimir collective bridges research and real life. We bring clarity where complexity exists and empower organisations to evaluate what truly matters: connection, identity, purpose, and wellbeing.

Why We Exist

Across sectors such as heritage, arts, health, and community wellbeing, many organisations are working tirelessly to create positive change but find it difficult to describe or demonstrate their impact.

We bridge that gap.

Our work helps turn the invisible into the understood — giving teams the tools, language, and confidence to capture the outcomes that matter most.

We know that evaluation can sometimes feel daunting or disconnected. That is why our approach is reflective, trauma-informed, and collaborative. We make learning accessible, ethical, and empowering, so that every story of change can be recognised for its worth.

Our Story

The Mimir Collective was founded by practitioners and researchers who have spent over a decade working at the intersection of psychology, heritage, and community practice.

Our experience in the field has taught us that meaningful change comes from connection — between people, disciplines, and ideas.

We believe that evidence should never be detached from empathy. By blending academic rigour with lived understanding, we help organisations turn complexity into clarity and create impact that lasts.

Our Ethos

Principle

What It Means in Practice

Reflective Practice

True understanding begins with reflection. Every project starts with listening — to people, to place, and to context — ensuring that evaluation is grounded in empathy and awareness.

Evidence-Based Action

We translate theory and data into practical, credible outcomes that funders, stakeholders, and communities can trust. Our work connects reflection with measurable change.

Co-Production and Inclusion

We believe wisdom is shared, not owned. Our processes are collaborative and trauma-informed, ensuring that insight is co-created, inclusive, and empowering.

Integrity and Care

Ethical, rigorous, and transparent practice underpins everything we do — from evaluation design to community delivery — ensuring that our work honours both evidence and experience.

Our Vision

We want to see a world where evaluation is not a requirement but a relationship, a shared process of understanding that strengthens wellbeing, inclusion, and trust.

By helping organisations learn from their work and from one another, The Mimir Collective supports a culture of reflection and care across sectors, communities, and people.
